Happy Halloween, everyone! It’s time for my October sketchbook!
Again, I can not draw hands very well. This drawing really helped me realize that I can add my own style when drawing “realisticly” doesn’t work for me.
In this drawing, I practiced drawing shadows. I focussed more on that than making a good drawing. The technique I used for this drawing is one that I want to work on and possibly use for the illustrations in my novel.
Big eyes are a fun thing to experiment with. I did this whole drawing without erasing – a huge feat for me.
Jenny helped me draw the hair for the girl in the above drawing. The glasses were fun to practice on, though I wish I had made them bigger.
Here, I turned my drawing into a craft by adding yarn and washi tape.
If you’ve been reading my Sketchbook Posts, you know I’ve been practicing adding different skin colors to the people in my drawings. This is one of my best so far.
My last drawing looks much like the one before it, except that the girl is wearing glasses and a ponytail instead of a bun.
Thank you for looking at my sketches. I hope they inspired you to create your own. Leave any thoughts, questions, or concerns in the comments section below.
Have a great week!
