About a week ago, Daddy and I went to the Library of Congress. We participated in a General Research Orientation Class and got a tour of the LIbrary’s reading room, and bookshelves.
After arriving on the metro and on foot, we came into the foyer area. We walked through the reading room and up to the Classrooms and signed in.
While we waited for the class to start, we walked around and looked at the decorated floors, ceilings, and halls. It was fun to see. There was hardly anything that wasn’t painted, or carved with elaborate designs.
During the Orientation, the teacher covered research at home, and at a library. I learned how to find what you are looking for by using a keyword and even better results using an advanced search. I also learned how to research a specific topic by using Databases.
After the Orientation, we took a tour around the Library. This was different from an architectural tour. The teacher showed us the different places where books are kept and used in the library, and the map room.
I had a great time and learned a lot about research at the Library of Congress. I look forward to using its resources and those of other libraries in my research.
You can visit the online Library of Congress here.
Where do you like to visit? What are you researching? How do you use your library for your research? I love hearing from you all!

That’s okay fun! What a great opportunity you had.:) I love to visit Cities. I was researching for a French project of mine for school. I usually just look for books that have the information I need. Thanks for the post! 😊
