It’s been over three months since I last posted. I usually don’t go that long, but it was nice to take a break.
The main reason I haven’t blogged in so long is that I’ve been busy. I’ve done some travelling around Europe – I went to Athens with my family in July and Barcelona last week. I love travelling and exploring new cultures!
I’ve also been writing poetry as you probably guessed from the title.
In May, I made it a goal to have written a total of one hundred poems by September 23, which is when I wrote my first poem.
I spent almost all of my time when I wasn’t with my friends or travelling Europe writing and pretty much forgot about my other hobbies.
Sometimes I wrote multiple poems in one day and a few times stayed up all night typing them. It became an obsession for me and it felt so good to express myself in a way I hadn’t before.
When I made my goal, I had about twenty. Eighty poems later, I met my goal on August 17. Since then, I’ve written fifteen more, and I have no plans of stopping.
I learned so much from the experience of writing a hundred poems. About writing, about life, and about myself.
I hope to share what I’ve learned with you, by posting more of my poetry on here – maybe about two a month – to get more comfortable sharing my work so eventually I can publish a poetry book.
Because I’ll be posting more poetry, you can expect less reviews and tutorial type posts.
I may try to post some Five Friday Favorites posts, but in the interest of gaurding my privacy, I won’t be posting as much about my personal life and travels. I’ve never been completely open to sharing about my life online anyway.
And of course, you can expect lots of NaNoWriMo posts coming your way in November! So, please subscribe so you can get these and my poetry posts in your inbox.
How was your summer? I would love to hear from you!
