Harry Style’s new album came out a little over two weeks ago and I have finally listened to all of the tracks.
These music reviews are starting to become more of a constant around here, so I hope you enjoy reading me obsess over my favorite songs.
I was never a Harry Styles fan before this album. Aside from Sign of the Times and Falling, I hadn’t really heard any of his songs until recently. It wasn’t that I disliked his music, I had just never gone out of my way to listen to it.
Overall, Harry’s House is an incredible body of work. It has a chill, but also upbeat vibe. I love the creativity and storytelling in all of the songs and how Harry Styles portrays several different moods throughout the album.
Some of the songs I was instantly addicted to, while others took some time for me to understand.
My top three favorite songs are As It Was, Keep Driving, and Matilda.
When I heard As It Was a few months ago, I was hooked. The intro, with the kids saying “Come on Harry, we want to say goodnight to you!” is up there with the Gorgeous intro from Taylor Swift’s Reputation album. Plus, the beats are so addictive.
I didn’t listen to the album in order at first, and the first song that I listened to was Keep Driving. The title drew me to it and I soon fell in love with the lyrics and storytelling.
However, now that I’ve heard the whole album, my favorite has to be Matilda. It’s so emotional and beautiful.
