It’s hard to believe I’m already starting my last week of NaNoWriMo. It has been such a fun month, working on my project, Dragon Tamer.
In addition to this week’s writing, I also finished working on my cover!
I made it using Canva Elements, Adobe photshop, and Microsoft Paint. It took me a week to finish coloring in the girl and dragon.
This week’s writing was slower, and as I neared the end it was harder to think of what to write.
I started writing out of order and skipping to the more exciting scenes, which helped me crank out my word count. Unfortunately, that also means that next month when I edit, I’ll have to rearrange everything.
I’ve about run out of story, and I still have fifteen thousand words left. I plan on dividing what I’ve already written into eighths and then each day I take a section and add sixteen hundred words.
I am looking forward to finishing and editing in December, but I am also going to miss the routine of writing every day.
Excerpts:
“Ardern Opal would live to be known by many other names; Earthquake Girl, Dragon Tamer, the symbol of the Miracian revolution, to name a few. But before all that, she was only Ardie, Russ’s big sister.”

“I should probably be going that way too. I probably shouldn’t be going towards the epicenter of the earthquake. But then again, I probably should.”
~~~
“This doesn’t feel right. This isn’t how it was supposed to happen. Ardern and I were going to leave together. And we were going to figure out a way to bring Yemi along to. But it all fell apart. And now I’m standing alone, in front of the Arena.“
