Dear Reader,
It’s no secret I love listening to music. Something music-related almost always ends up on my Five Friday Favorites posts.
Music tells a story in a way to visual art can’t by portraying emotions through tone of voice, beat, and words.
Playlists are great because they allow you to organize your music, and set a mood for what kind of music you want to listen to. Plus, it helps me to not forget my favorite songs.
My oldest playlist is “motivator“. I use this playlist for when I’m working out. The songs on this playlist are upbeat and have lyrics that keep me motivated.
My second oldest playlist is “mellow“ It has slow, feel-good songs and the main genre is soft pop/acoustic. The playlist has a little bit of a coffee shop vibe as well.
My “rainy day” playlist is similar to “mellow” because they are both slow. Rainy day is moodier and less acoustic. This is my only playlist that has mostly sad songs on it. It also happens to be my shortest playlist, perhaps because I keep adding and removing songs from it.
My longest playlist is “devotions.” It is seven hours and three minutes long. I listen to this playlist sometimes when I read my Bible. The songs on it are slow and worshipful.
My other Christian playlist is called “sunday morning“. It has upbeat Christian songs on it. I like to listen to this playlist when I’m putting on my make up on Sunday mornings.
My most recent playlist is “pumpkin spice“. I created at the beginning of this fall. It has songs that sound like fall… cozy, nostalgic, and a little bittersweet.
I also have a playlist called “dragon tamer” which I created to go along with my NaNoWriMo project. When I originally created it, the song order corresponded with the order of events in the story. There are also some songs that don’t fit any scene in particular, but rather, capture a theme of the book.
Finally, my favorite playlist is “heartbeats“. This playlist has upbeat, feel-good songs, and most of my favorite songs are on it. I created it last spring and it has changed a lot since then.
I haven’t done a post this long in a while, but I hope you enjoyed reading about my playlists. Do you like to create playlists on Spotify? I’d love to chat with you in the comments.
Have a great week!
