Today’s story is inspired by one of my favorite cereals: Fruit Loops! Thanks for reading. <3
The last purple Fruit Loop is a survivor. It has made it out this long, without being scooped up by my plastic spoon.
But it can’t stay in the bowl forever. Soon, I will devour it, feel its crunch in my teeth. ‘I will be victorious,’ I think with an evil laugh.
After a few failed attempts at scooping it up, I tilt the bowl towards me, putting my spoon just under it, bringing it up.
I taste milk. No Fruit Loop. It fell off my spoon – or did it jump? I look all around my placemat. Nothing. I look on my seat. Bare. Then, I find the Fruit Loop on the floor and decide it has been there too long to still be safe to eat.
I put it back in my bowl and pour it down the kitchen sink. Wait – I have an idea – I haven’t given up yet. I flip the switch beside the sink and listen to the thunder of the garbage disposal.
