Racism is a hot topic right now, as it should be. I don’t want to say silent on this important issue.
I believe that God created ALL people in his image. He doesn’t show favoritism, so neither should we. But don’t just take my word for it. Here are ten Bible verses that speak to this issue. (All brackets and italics are my own.)
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image; he created him in the image of God; he created them male and female.
Proverbs 24:23
These sayings also belong to the wise: It is not good to show partiality in judgment.
Mark 12:31
“The second [most important commandment] is, Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other command greater than these.”
John 4:9
“How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” she asked him [Jesus]. For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.
Romans 2:11
For there is no favoritism with God.
Galatians 3:28
There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus.
1 Timothy 5:21
I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels to observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing out of favoritism.
James 2:8-9
Indeed, if you fulfill the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself, you are doing well. If, however, you show favoritism, you commit sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
1 John 4:19-21
We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” and yet hates his brother or sister, he is a liar. For the person who does not love his brother or sister whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.
Revelation 7:9
After this, I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands.
