Dear Reader,
At our youth camp a few weeks ago, we couldn’t sing because of the coronavirus, but we were still able to worship in a different way.
The worship leader sang and we all pulled out our canvases and paintbrush pens to draw.
It was a really neat experience. I had never thought of art as a form of worship before.
I painted a blue background and an orange hand reaching out. It represents Jesus’s hand reaching out to Peter when they went walking on water.
I have it hung over my bed to remind me that Jesus’s hand is always there to catch me. It reminds me not to focus on the storm, but to fix my eyes on Jesus.
The bold blues and oranges clash with my mint green bed and the pink curtains. The hook left in the wall by our house’s former residents is annoyingly not centered with my bed.
But you know what? I’m okay with that.
Because maybe that’s the point. That everything doesn’t have to be perfect. Peter wasn’t perfect, but Jesus still chose him.
Do you have anything that reminds you of God’s love? I’d love to hear from you!
with love,
Elizabeth Anne

I love this post Elizabeth Anne and your resolve at the end. How often are we reminded to fix our eyes on Jesus and we grasp and focus on anything else? You’ve got your visual reminder to daily fix your eyes on Jesus and that’s pretty cool!

I like how your youth camp thought of other ways of worship because I think that’s really important! I’ve just finished your two truths and a lie tag (which was really fun) and I’ve also tagged you for the Outstanding Original Blogger Award- you can find it on my blog 🙂
