Dear Reader,
I was recently nominated for the Liebster Award. You can read more about it here. (link)
Today I am going to share my answers to Rae’s questions.
(1) What is your dream job and why?
Probably working at a local newspaper. I love writing and learning about the world around me. That has been a dream of mine for a long time.
(2) What are some dreams that you have had to let go, and what are some that God has brought to fruition?
One dream I had to let go is doing AWANA through 12th grade. At our church here the AWANA and youth group are on the same night and I needed to not focus on the knowledge part.
One dream that God has brought to fruition is this blog. I love being able to share my art with you and encouraging fellow artists.
(3) If you could say one thing to the whole world, what would you say?
That’s a hard one. I have a lot of things to say, but I guess I would just sum it up and say, “love.”
(4) What encouragement would you offer to other bloggers?
Don’t be afraid to share YOUR story. When I first started blogging, I rarely talked about my own life because I didn’t want to brag. But guess what? It’s your site, so brag all you want! Be proud of who you are and what you can do!
(5) Where do you get your inspiration for blog posts?
Most of them are about my artwork or books I’ve read, so I guess that’s where I get my inspiration.
(6) What is your favorite Bible verse and why?
I’m gonna break the rules here and pick two, because I couldn’t decide between them. I chose Jeremiah 29:11 because it reminds me of my worth and Colossians 3:23 because it reminds me to glorify God in all I do.
For I know the plans I have for you” – this is the LORD’s declaration – ”plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people.
Colossians 3:23, CSB
(7) What is your story, your testimony, how have you seen God in your life?
I accepted Christ as my Savior and Lord when I was six in VBS. I’m in a Christian family and church and they are always encouraging me to grow in my faith. I’ve seen God work in my life in so, so many ways. He is always there to comfort me and guide me; always forgiving and loving.
(8) If you could meet one Bible character, who would it be and what would you say to them?
I would go back and tell Adam and Eve, “Hey, if a random talking snake ever shows up, don’t listen to him,” but you know, the whole space-time continuum thing. I’d probably go hang out with Peter. He seems like a fun person to be around.
(9) What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite is The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart. I love the characters and the whole story makes me smile. It’s so fun and exciting! (You can read my review here)
(10) Do you like tea?
I love tea. My favorite summer drink is iced green tea lemonade from Starbucks and I have Yorkshire Breakfast tea almost every morning. I will drink coffee sometimes too, but tea is still my favorite.
(11) What is the purpose behind your blog, what are your goals for it?
My goal for my blog is to share my art and to encourage fellow artists. This takes many forms. Sometimes I do a whole post about one drawing, sometimes I do tutorials, share stories, or review a book with fan art.
Recently, I’m also trying to promote racial equality through art and highlight other artists doing the same. I’m coming out with a monthly series soon called “Promoting Racial Equality Through Art” in which I do a biography of artists and writers who used their art to promote racial equality.
That’s a wrap! Thanks for the awesome questions, Rae!
with love,
Elizabeth Anne

I love how you answered all the questions! I didn’t know you wanted to write for a newspaper, that’s really cool! I write for my school’s newspaper and I really like it. 🙂
