Camila Cabello’s new album just released and I’m already loving it! This is the second album review I’ve done, but maybe they’ll become more regular!
Like I’ve said before, music is a great way of expressing feelings and messages. I love hearing how different artists use their own words to portray similar ideas.
Familia is Camila Cabello’s third album. Her others are Romance and Camila. This has a very different feel than her others. She’s definitely matured as an artist.
The album touches on messages about mental health, family, and the nuances of falling in and out of love.
One thing that I noticed is that many of the songs include Spanish lyrics and Latin sounds in the instrumentals, which reflects Camila’s Cuban heritage. Although it means I can’t understand everything she says, I really enjoy this aspect of her music. Plus, maybe listening to it on repeat will help me become more fluent!
My favorite song on the album has to be Bam Bam (not just because of Ed Sheeran but that is a factor). It’s a song about moving on from a breakup and finding joy again. It is such a fun, chill song that is great to listen to when you need to wind down.
Second place is a two-way tie between Lola and Boy’s Don’t Cry (the clean version).
Have you listened to Familia yet? What did you think?
