This was a great reading month for me! I can’t wait to share what I read . . .
The One and Only Bob by Katherine Applegate
Bob learns about friendship and family in the sequel to The One and Only Ivan.
I recommend for ages 8+.
The narrative voice in the One and Only Bob sounds just like how I imagined Bob would sound! I also enjoyed the internal conflict and characters.
A Frozen Heart by Elizabeth Rudnick
Written in alternating chapters, A Frozen Heart, is the story of Anna and Hans’s relationship.
I recommend for ages 10+.
This really didn’t leave much of an impression on me. I don’t feel any differently about any of the characters or the story in general.
Window Fellow by Faith L. Potts
When Annaleise’s “Window Fellow” doesn’t show up, will she do what it takes to heal their friendship?
I recommend for ages 10+
It is impressive how much the author endeared me to the characters in so few pages. I still can’t get over how adorable they are together.
The Mighty Miss Malone by Christopher Paul Curtis
Deza Malone’s family is broken and put back together in this inspiring story about the Great Depression.
I recommend for ages 10+.
I loved the plot twists and characters. This book taught me so much about poverty and race. It was a sweet, quick read.
I also read the Legacy of Orisha series, which I reviewed in an earlier post and Daughters of Nri, which I will be reviewing in a future post.
Let’s Talk: What’s your favorite book you read this month? Have you read any of my books?
